Justin Peters Thesis
I just finished reading brother Peters thesis, which I had ordered a couple weeks ago. First and foremost I am so thankful that God does give us a spirit of discernment and that I always had felt a unease about some preaching and teaching that one easily sees on Christian Television. I am thankful also that God is raising up a new generation of faithful followers that take up the shield and sword and defend our faith even from the enemies within.
It is easy to shrug away or feel like one should not criticize quickly and admonish so called brothers. Too often I hear the call for unity at the price of letting the wolfs run wild and devour from within our own ranks. I just read Ephesians and one passage talks especially about this subject. In Eph 5:11 it says: “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” We are not called to sit by, but defend our Gospel. To defend means that we sometimes need to expose what is not Gospel even if the truth is uncomfortable. Now that does not mean that we should charge and do nothing else than to point fingers, but it does mean that when we cross paths we do not have to sit by idle in the name of “christian love”.
Brother Peters whrote his thesis “An examination and Critique of the Life, Ministry and Theology of Healing Evangelist Benny Hinn” from a unique perspective. He himself has Cerebral Palsy and was exposed to the health and wealth gospel. He studied the subject thorowly and points out many issues not just with the ministry of Benny Hinn, but also with some other teachers that would make you belive that every Christian should be healthy all the time.
the thesis is written with much humbleness, consideration and great documentation. It has to be considered beyond approch and I hope that many followers of Christ will be blessed by reading this short but well layed out document. One can tell that Mr. Peters desires nothing but to give God all glory and to expose teaching and preaching that is contrary to scripture.
